#SECURAGivesBack - Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons and H.O.M.E (Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly) - Giving back to Chicago's senior citizens since 1990

For over 30 years, Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons has been serving and supporting H.O.M.E (Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly). “This organization is unique in the Chicago area in that it serves a segment of our society that can be overlooked at times – low income elderly residents,” said Ned Cooke, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons. "H.O.M.E provides so many wonderful services such as intergenerational housing, a shopping bus that provides seniors free and safe transportation to the store to buy necessary medications and groceries. Among many other amazing services, they also provide discounted home repairs allowing the elderly to stay in their homes longer. In a typical year, the H.O.M.E team completes 750 home repairs!"
Over the years, Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons employees have had the opportunity to serve with H.O.M.E at several events. They have helped winterize homes, cooked Christmas dinners for multigenerational buildings H.O.M.E owns and manages, and so much more.
"For the team members from Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons who volunteer, 100% of them say it doesn't feel like work," said Ned. "You always end up connecting with the people you are helping and you have great conversations, it's just so much fun to be a part of!"
In addition to the various volunteer activities they do company-wide, Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons team members get involved on the administrative side with H.O.M.E as well. Since their involvement began 30 years ago, Joseph M. Wiedemann & Sons has consistently held a board position through H.O.M.E and the company also provides an annual financial contribution to the organization.
