General Liability
Your employee is replacing outdated plumbing in an older home. During the process, their tools accidentally fall and break a pipe joint, causing water damage to the home’s interior. General Liability insurance could help pay for the repair costs of the damage and any legal defense fees if the homeowner decides to file a claim against your business for damages.
Errors and Omissions
A few weeks after installing a new water heater in a residential home, the water heater malfunctions and causes significant water damage to the customer’s basement. Despite your best efforts, the customer claims negligence on your part, alleging improper installation. Errors and Omissions coverage could help protect you by covering legal fees and potential repair costs incurred due to the alleged error in the installation process.
Workers’ Compensation
Your employee is working in a cramped crawl space to repair a leak. While maneuvering in the tight area, they severely strain their back. This injury requires medical treatment, physical therapy, and time away from work to recover. Workers’ Compensation coverage could help provide financial assistance for medical treatments and a portion of the lost wages during the recovery period.
Commercial Auto
Your employee is driving a company work vehicle to a job site and is involved in a traffic accident, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle and bodily injury to the other driver. Commercial Auto insurance can help cover the repair costs for the vehicle and any liability claims for damages to the other vehicle involved in the accident. It can also help pay for medical bills the other driver may incur as part of their recovery.
Inland Marine
While working on a large commercial project, your employees leave their tools and various plumbing fittings at the secured job site overnight. Unfortunately, there is a break-in at the site, and their equipment and tools are stolen. Inland Marine insurance could help provide financial compensation for the stolen items, allowing your employees to replace the stolen items quickly and continue their work with minimal delay, ensuring the project’s progress isn’t significantly postponed.
