SECURA Insurance promotes O’Brien to Controller

Appleton, Wisconsin (May 23, 2017) — SECURA Insurance recently promoted Tim O’Brien to Controller from Assistant Controller.

O’Brien joined SECURA in 2002 as the Accounting Manager. He has held various roles within the Finance Division during the past 15 years including Senior Financial Analyst, Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and, most recently, Assistant Controller. O’Brien came to SECURA from Midwest Security Insurance Companies where he held the position of Team Leader of Corporate Finance.

O’Brien received his Bachelor of Science in accounting and MBA from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified in Financial Management (CFM). He also is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, and the Institute of Management Accountants.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. He serves on the board of directors at Verve Credit Union and the Chancellor’s advisory board at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
