John Kunkel

While John thrives as a Commercial Lines underwriter today, he began his insurance career as an auto claims representative with State Farm Insurance. After earning his stripes in claims for a half a decade, John spent the next six years of his career as a Commercial Lines field underwriter with North Star Mutual Insurance Company before joining SECURA in 2018.

John has dedicated significant time earning a long list of designations while also serving as the President of the Sioux Empire CPCU Chapter.

While John’s dedication to his career is apparent, he’s also a passionate Minnesota Twins fan who attends the team’s home opener every year, which often means bundling up for questionable baseball weather. John also enjoys hiking, curling, camping, and softball.
