While 1998 was a monumental year in terms of pop culture, it was even more monumental for SECURA as our home and auto package, MILE-STONE®, was born.
To understand how far we’ve come, we’d like to take you back.
In 1900, SECURA was founded on a principle of protecting what matters most. As the years advanced and technology evolved, following the success of the farm offering we became known for, SECURA expanded to offer home and auto, commercial, and specialty policies.
In November 1997, work began on MILE-STONE, the company’s new home and auto package policy. This new addition offered policyholders one simple, convenient, and competitively priced package. MILE-STONE featured broad auto, homeowners, and umbrella coverages while the MILE-STONE Gold endorsement offered even broader coverages with increased special limits.
In June 1998, MILE-STONE officially launched in the state of Wisconsin. During its first few months of life, more than 700 policies were issued giving policyholders superior coverage over their home and automobiles.

Today, our MILE-STONE product has protected thousands of homeowners across the Midwest, Colorado, and Arizona.
